BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

NEW SATELLITE

China successfully sent a new remote sensing satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, located in the country's northwest region, on Monday.

The remote sensing satellite was launched at 12:02 p.m. (Beijing Time) by a Long March-2C carrier rocket and entered its planned orbit successfully.

LOGISTICS

China maintained its position as the world's largest logistics market for the seventh consecutive year in 2022, industry data showed.

Total revenue of the country's logistics sector came in at 12.7 trillion yuan (about 1.82 trillion U.S. dollars) last year, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

To build a modern logistics system, China should work on the digital transformation of its logistics infrastructure, including railways and ports, and promote the integration of resources in the sector, the federation said.

TECH COMPANY INVESTMENT

Despite the impact of the pandemic, Bitzer, a German compressor technology company, decided to invest another 300 million yuan (about 43 million U.S. dollars) in its Beijing factory this year.

Part of the investment will be spent on a 4,800-square-meter building for the research and development (R&D) department, and the foundation-laying ceremony is scheduled in April. Enditem
