China Sporting Goods and Equipment Import Expo opens in Haikou

HAIKOU, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The second China (Hainan) Sporting Goods and Equipment Import Expo opened in Haikou, the capital of south China's Hainan Province on Friday.
The Expo has attracted about 300 enterprises and associations from 11 countries, including Japan, Sweden, the United States, Germany, France, Austria, South Korea, Norway, Australia, Italy and Finland.
At the Expo, international brands are optimistic about China's sports consumption market.
Ludwig Meier, an exhibitor from Germany, said that he "believes that China's sports leisure and sports market will develop at a faster pace. More and more people discover that you need, beside the business world, also an active sports world to recover or get positive."
Xie Jing, a provincial government official, said Hainan will try to attract more foreign sports brands to gather in China and promote sports consumption in China.
