BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SATELLITE NAVIGATION INDUSTRY

The total output value of China's satellite navigation and positioning service industry reached 500.7 billion yuan (about 71.3 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022, up 6.76 percent year on year, according to a white paper published Thursday.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Location Based Services (LBS) Association of China issued this year's white paper on the development of China's satellite navigation and positioning service industry at a press conference.

SCI-TECH INNOVATION CENTER

China's Ministry of Science and Technology issued a work plan to build Beijing into a major international sci-tech innovation center in the world by 2025.

The plan was jointly formulated by 12 departments, with the aim of accelerating sci-tech self-reliance, supporting high quality development, and transforming the city into a major science center and global innovation hub.

CHINA SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION

The China Science Fiction Convention 2023 will be included as a sideline event of this year's Zhongguancun Forum and will take place in Beijing from May 29 to June 4.

Forty activities, including the opening ceremony, sub-forums, and exhibitions, will be held during the week-long event. Enditem
