SHANGHAI, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Fresh off her win at the Beijing Women's Challenge, Zeng Liqi is in Chongming Island this week determined to set things right at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Championship.

At issue for the 17-year-old China LPGA Tour Order of Merit leader is the playoff loss the Nanchang teenager suffered here two years back to Liu Wenbo as an amateur.

The performance proved enough for Zeng to get invited to the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur, but still the memory of the first-hole playoff loss remained.

"That failure wasn't too annoying, but it was a pity. I think I can do better. That experience left a deep impression on me. It was a very significant moment in my amateur time, which changed my life path," said Zeng on Thursday following her practice round at Lanhai International Golf Club Yangtze Dunes, a links-style layout built on an island on the outskirts of Shanghai.

"I wouldn't say that I am in my best form currently, but it's important for me to earn more World Ranking points. My plan is to go to America and try to qualify for the US LPGA Tour later this year. Getting into the top 400 (she is currently 259th in the Rolex Rankings) would enable me to skip the first stage of Q-School. Therefore, a high finish is my goal. Every player wants to win. This week I just want to keep myself in the moment and play every shot well."

Cai Danlin is another with something to prove at the RMB one million tournament. The 20-year-old shot a career-best six-under 66 to grab a share of the second-round lead last week in Beijing. She then closed with a three-over 75 that included a double-bogey six on the 16th hole to miss out on the playoff by one shot.

"The lesson I learned in Beijing is that I must follow the same plan and take one step at a time no matter how I played," said the Guangdong native who is currently fifth on the money list.

"The mental game is the top priority for me. I need to relax and try to play the percentages, which I have always been pursuing but have not been able to do well. I did a good job over 17 holes last week and just had a terrible hole. I was really close." Enditem
