BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

ROCKET ENGINE TEST STAND

China has completed one more trial of a test stand for large-thrust liquid rocket engines that could power its future crewed lunar missions.

The trial marked a substantial improvement in rocket engine testing capabilities, offering support for launch vehicles that will be used in future crewed lunar landings, deep space explorations and space infrastructure construction.

SCI-TECH ZONE

China's first zone for the headquarters of international science and technology organizations was officially inaugurated in Beijing on Wednesday.

Aiming to foster the harmonious alignment of China's scientific and technological achievements and global progress in the field, the zone has so far attracted eight organizations, including the International Society for Digital Earth and the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association.

COSMIC RAY PARTICLES

A research team recently completed a "physical check" on the renowned, over 600-year-old Xi'an ancient city walls in northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The check was aided by the use of high-energy cosmic ray particles and all of the relics were kept intact throughout the process.

This high-tech scan was carried out by China's first homegrown non-destructive imaging system of cosmic ray muons based upon plastic scintillator. Enditem
