BEIJING, June 7 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

CELL CULTURE EXPERIMENTS

The taikonauts of Shenzhou-15 (Divine Vessel) achieved many notable firsts during their 186-day space trip, one of which was undertaking scientific research on the production of early-stage human blood cells aboard the orbiting Chinese space station.

After the cargo craft Tianzhou-6, or "Heavenly Vessel," docked with the Tiangong space station in May, the Shenzhou-15 taikonauts assisted the science team on-site to perform six to 15 days of cell culture experiments in orbit.

TIANZHOU-5 CARGO CRAFT

China's cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-5 re-docked with the orbiting space station combination on Tuesday after a 33-day independent flight, said the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

The cargo craft conducted the rendezvous and re-docking at 3:10 a.m. (Beijing Time). At present, the combination is in good condition, and follow-up work will be carried out as planned, said the CMSA.

FLEXIBLE SOLAR CELLS

Chinese researchers have provided a strategy for fabricating large-scale, foldable silicon wafers and manufacturing flexible solar cells, according to a recent research article published in the journal Nature.

A textured crystalline silicon wafer always tends to crack at the sharp channels between surface pyramids in the marginal region of the wafer. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the flexibility of silicon wafers by blunting the pyramidal structure in the marginal regions. Enditem
