BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Taishan head coach Choi Kang-hee said his Beijing Guoan counterpart Ricardo Soares should have been dismissed after the latter celebrated a goal in a provocative way in the Chinese FA Cup quarterfinal.

After Beijing scored to make it 1-1 in the 18th minute of Thursday's game, Soares rushed over to celebrate in front of the Shandong bench, earning him a yellow card.

This left Choi fuming, and when reminded of it at the post-match press conference, he said, "He should have been sent off for his behavior."

"In my 30-year coaching career, this is the first time that I saw celebrations before the opposition's bench. And nobody held him back," he said.

"Opponents are actually colleagues rather than enemies. We need mutual respect, without which there is no sportsmanship," he added.

Shandong beat Beijing 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 1-1. Enditem
