CHANGSHA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- French wingsuit pilot Vincent Descols claimed the target-hitting title at the ninth World Wingsuit League (WWL) Wingsuit World Championship at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, central China's Hunan Province on Monday.

The target, with a maximum diameter of 0.7 meters at the outer ring and 10 centimeters at the center, was placed in the gap in front of Visitors' Square.

The final eight competitors jumped in turns from the nearly 1,400-meter-high mountain, with the winner determined by who collects the most rings over the course.

Descols topped with 160 points after two rounds of competition. Daniel Darby of the United States and home wingsuiter Zhang Shupeng ranked second and third respectively.

Descols, who won both air racing and target-hitting titles at the 2016 Wingsuit World Championship, successfully completed the challenge of tandem wingsuit flying with Chinese mountaineer Luo Jing at Tianmen Mountain a few days ago. Enditem
