BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China:

NEW SOLAR TELESCOPE

The Daocheng Solar Radio Telescope, a solar telescope array in southwest China, passed key testing on Wednesday, marking the official completion of the world's largest synthesis aperture radio telescope, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The CAS said that the telescope array is a landmark equipment of the country's space environment ground-base comprehensive monitoring network (phase-2 Meridian Project) and will provide high-quality observation data for solar physics and space weather research in China.

SUSPENDED MONORAIL LINE

China's first commercial suspended monorail line opened to the public on Tuesday in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province.

The operational first phase of the project covers a total distance of 10.5 km and features six stations, according to Optics Valley Traffic Company, the operator of the line.

The suspended monorail line operates for 12 hours every day, with a monorail departing every 10 minutes.

BIG DATA PLATFORM FOR TREES

A big data platform for the management of ancient and famous trees across China was launched on Monday in Huangling County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The platform aims to facilitate the smart management of the country's ancient and famous trees, and includes data from the second national survey of these trees, which was made public in 2022. It was launched by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration at a ceremony that kicked off a weeklong campaign to raise public awareness of the need to protect ancient trees. Enditem
