LANZHOU, China, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese paddlers booked three spots in the finals of mixed, men's and women's doubles at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender in Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province on Friday.

In the mixed doubles semifinal, China's Lin Shidong and Kuai Man knocked out their compatriots, top-seeded Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, 3-2.

"Compared with our opponents [who participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games], we have had more time to prepare and rest. We were also more relaxed during the match," said Kuai.

Lin and Kuai will now face Japan's Hina Hayata and Tomokazu Harimoto in the final. As the two pairs encountered each other at this year's World Table Tennis Championships in Durban, South Africa, Lin said they would make their preparations more targeted.

Lin also made it to the men's doubles final, as he paired up with Xu Yingbin to overcome top seed Lim Jong-hoon and An Jae-hyun of South Korea 3-2. They will take on France's brother duo of Alexis and Felix Lebrun.

In the women's doubles, Chen Meng and Wang Manyu advanced to the final after defeating South Korea's Choi Hyo-joo and Joo Cheon-hui 3-0. Chen and Wang will contend for the title with another South Korean pair, Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin.

Six female Chinese paddlers - Sun Yingsha, Chen Meng, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Qian Tianyi and Liu Weishan - advanced to the women's singles quarterfinals.

In the men's draw, Wang Chuqin, Ma Long, Liang Jingkun and Zhou Qihao reached the last eight. German veteran Timo Boll was eliminated by China's Lin Gaoyuan 3-1, ending his first WTT Series event in almost a year following a lengthy injury absence. Enditem
