BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China:

NEW TELESCOPE

China on Wednesday started the construction of a 40-meter-aperture radio telescope in the Changbai Mountain area, in the northeastern province of Jilin, to support future lunar and deep-space probe missions.

Developed by the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the optical instrument is designed to be a large, fully movable, high-precision multipurpose radio telescope.

FULLY INTEGRATED MEMRISTOR CHIP

Chinese scientists have developed a fully integrated memristor chip with improved learning ability and low energy cost, according to a study recently published in the journal Science.

Based on 11 years of research, scientists from Tsinghua University developed a full-system-integrated chip consisting of multiple memristor arrays and all the necessary peripheral circuits to support complete on-chip learning.

LATERAL RESISTANCE WALK EXERCISE

Chinese researchers have proposed a novel hip exoskeleton, which can strengthen hip adductors by applying active resistance torque during lateral walking.

They designed a spatial linkage mechanism of the hip exoskeleton and fabricated a prototype, as well as established a dynamic model of transmission system coupling exoskeleton and human body.

The researchers achieved increased muscle activation in the gluteus medius and tensor fascia latae in a wearable test. Enditem
