CBA Roundup: Guangzhou overturn Shenzhen, Beijing down Jilin

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Guangzhou Loong Lions used a late surge to overturn the Shenzhen Aviators 108-105, while the Beijing Royal Fighters held off the Jilin Northeast Tigers 92-76 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Saturday.

Guangzhou took an early lead, going ahead 40-22 in the first quarter. Shenzhen cut the deficit to 12 points at halftime, and Daryl Macon scored eight points as Shenzhen outscored 29-14 in the third quarter for a three-point advantage heading into the final period.

Dallas Moore hit the go-ahead 3-pointer for Guangzhou with 1:22 left. Moore scored 20 points as Guangzhou improve to a win-loss record of 4-2, currently sitting fourth in the standings. Cui Yongxi had 23 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Beijing went into the fourth quarter with a six-point lead before gradually extending their advantage from there for a comfortable road win.

Chen Guohao, the top draft pick in 2023, led Beijing with 18 points. Kay Felder contributed a triple-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.

In other games, the Zhejiang Lions downed the Shandong Heroes 97-78, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls defeated the Fujian Sturgeons 119-110, and the Shanxi Loongs held off the Tianjin Pioneers 114-104. Enditem
