BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

BIOMEDICAL PLATFORM

China launched the construction of an innovative platform for molecular imaging and theranostic medical probes in Huairou Science City in the northeastern suburbs of Beijing on Wednesday.

The platform, with a planned construction area of 29,000 square meters, is a key part of the multi-modal and multi-scale biomedical imaging project, one of the major national scientific and technological infrastructure, which was completed in Huairou Science City in 2022 and began trial operations last year.

HIGHEST AVERAGE TEMPERATURE

The average temperature in China in 2023 was 10.71 degrees Celsius, the highest level since the keeping of official meteorological records began in the country in 1951.

Over the past year, 127 weather stations across the country reported daily temperatures breaking or matching the highest temperatures on record.

PUBLIC MEDICAL SERVICES

China's tertiary public hospitals nationwide have further enhanced accessibility of their medical services, according to an official assessment report released by the National Health Commission and six other departments.

The report was formulated based on the performance of the country's 2,817 tertiary public hospitals in 2022. It highlighted an improvement in the capability of these hospitals to address complex and difficult diseases. Enditem
