JINAN, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Jiayi and Duan Angjun helped the Qingdao Eagles edge the Shanxi Loongs 118-113, while the Zhejiang Lions smashed the Ningbo Rockets 95-71 in the 2023-24 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Saturday.

Zhao hit 12 from 17, pocketing 34 points and leading Qingdao to end a three-game losing streak. He started his full attacking mode from the very beginning of the game and scored the key three-pointer in the last moment to help his team seal the victory.

Rookie Duan also grabbed 29 points, while promising center Yang Hansen struggled throughout the game and had just ten points and seven rebounds.

"Our young players performed excellently during the game. Their contribution in defense in the last few rounds helped the team secure the victory," Qingdao head coach Liu Weiwei said.

Zhejiang center Hu Jinqiu contributed 21 points and nine rebounds in his team's win against Ningbo. Jahlil Okafor added 21 points. Zhejiang dominated the first half and convincingly defeated Ningbo, whose losing streak now stretches to 23 games, with Archie Goodwin notching a game-high 23 points.
