REMOTE SENSING SATELLITE
China on Wednesday launched a Long March-2D carrier rocket, placing a remote sensing satellite in space.
The rocket blasted off at 6:56 a.m. (Beijing Time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan and sent the Yaogan-42 01 satellite into the preset orbit.
CORAL FOSSILS
Researchers have found a large number of coral fossils dating back to some 350 million years ago in Yunxi County, central China's Hubei Province, which suggests that the Qinling Mountains were once a vast sea back then.
The fossils, of more than 10 coral species during the Devonian period, which was 419 million to 359 million years ago, covered an area of over 300-square-kilometer in the northwestern part of the county.
ROBOTICS INDUSTRIAL PARK
Beijing has commenced the construction of a robotics industrial park in the Future Science City located in the northern Changping District.
In 2023, the municipal government unveiled a plan to build "dual robot industrial parks," with the second one situated in Yizhuang, in southern Beijing.
The industrial park in the city's northern region will focus on building public service platforms and promoting robotics innovation enterprises to support the development of the relevant industry in Beijing, according to the Changping District government. Enditem
