BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The 2024 Beijing Daxing Half Marathon is to take place on April 27.

This year's event, which has 6,000 runners, features a half-marathon and a 7-kilometer happy run.

The half-marathon requires the runners to be 16 years old and above, while the happy run sees the age limit lowered to eight years old.

In addition to a change in the route of the half-marathon course, this year's event will see facial recognition technology used for material distribution, and for the first time, data connection between the facial recognition verification system and the timing chip system will be applied in order to avoid runners cheating and to provide more efficient and accurate data collection.

Organizers announced that a 10-day training camp would open before the race, providing professional marathon training guidance for runners and forming professional running teams. Enditem
