BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS), together with other relevant authorities, has launched a campaign to crack down on crime involving the production or sale of counterfeit or substandard agricultural supplies.

As part of the campaign, the MPS has urged efforts to closely monitor agricultural goods such as seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, as well as efforts to crack down on crimes in these areas, with a particular focus on schemes that target rural residents and claim to offer brand-name agricultural supplies but instead deliver counterfeit versions.

The MPS has also pledged efforts to tackle such crimes in a more precise, thorough and coordinated fashion, and further efforts to improve information-sharing, case notification procedures, transfers and handling mechanisms among relevant authorities.

Inter-regional police cooperation will also be enhanced to crack down on the whole crime chain, including the production, provision and sale of counterfeit or inferior agricultural supplies, according to the MPS. Enditem
