BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.49 percent to 3,019.47 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.78 percent lower at 9,228.23 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 814.7 billion yuan (about 114.8 billion U.S. dollars), slightly higher than the 812.8 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to solid batteries and agriculture suffered major losses, while those linked to gold, home appliance and chemical production were significantly up.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.08 percent to close at 1,762.88 points on Friday. Enditem
