BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

TIANDU SATELLITES

China's communication and navigation technology test satellites, Tiandu-1 and Tiandu-2, have successfully carried out experiments on new technologies such as highly reliable Earth-Moon transmission and routing, according to Science and Technology Daily on Monday.

The telemetric data showed that the test project could effectively improve the accuracy of spacecraft in determining the lunar orbit.

SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY INNOVATION CENTER

Shanghai Synthetic Biology Innovation Center was unveiled, in a bid to promote innovation and development of this "future industry" of the eastern Chinese metropolis.

The center, jointly initiated by industry service institutions and synthetic biology innovation partners, will cooperate extensively with domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, non-profit organizations and leading enterprises to carry out global work in the field of synthetic biology, according to the municipal science and technology commission.

CHINESE SCIENTIFIC LITERACY

The proportion of Chinese citizens with scientific literacy reached 14.14 percent in 2023, according to a survey result published by the China Association for Science and Technology Tuesday.

Led by the China Research Institute for Science Popularization, the 13th sample survey of scientific literacy of Chinese citizens showed that the proportion rose 1.21 percentage points from that of 2022. Enditem
