BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.09 percent to 3,074.22 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.05 percent lower at 9,376.81 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 949.6 billion yuan (about 133.71 billion U.S. dollars), up from the 923.8 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.

Shares related to motorcycles and aircraft manufacturing led the gains, while those in the environmental protection and power sectors suffered the greatest losses.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.55 percent to close at 1,787.49 points Thursday. Enditem
