BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SHENZHOU-17 MANNED SPACESHIP

China's Shenzhou-17 manned spaceship separated from the country's space station combination at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Manned Space Agency.

Three astronauts aboard, Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie, and Jiang Xinlin, are returning to Earth after staying in orbit for about half a year.

UAV INDUSTRIAL BASE

An industrial base focused on producing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was put into operation on Sunday in Zigong City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. and the Zigong municipal government jointly built this industrial base, aiming to boost the high-quality development of the UAV industry, said the AVIC.

As a pioneer in the UAV industrial base, the AVIC (Chengdu) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System Co., Ltd. (AVIC UAS) has launched a production line capable of handling the final assembly and tests of up to 200 UAVs annually.

LNG TRANSPORT SHIPS

A Chinese shipbuilding firm will construct 18 ultra-large liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport ships each with a payload capacity of 271,000 cubic meters for Qatar.

The deal for the world's largest single shipbuilding order between China State Shipbuilding Corporation and QatarEnergy was signed Monday.

The 271,000-cubic-meter LNG transport ship has a total length of 344 meters, a breadth of 53.6 meters, and a depth of 27.2 meters, making it the world's largest LNG transport ship. Enditem
