HONG KONG, April 30 (Xinhua) -- John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Tuesday that attracting global talents to Hong Kong will directly enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness and drive the city's economic development.

Speaking ahead of an executive council meeting, Lee said that the HKSAR government will host the first "Global Talent Summit·Hong Kong" on May 7-8, which comprises three parts, namely the International Talent Forum, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area High-quality Talent Development Conference, and the CareerConnect Expo.

Nearly 100 organizations will participate in the expo and provide services for talents coming to Hong Kong.

Lee said that Hong Kong will play its role as a "super connector" and "super value-adder," helping to do matching between participants, service providers and potential employers.

The HKSAR government expected the summit to attract more than 7,000 participants from political, academic and business sectors at home and abroad. Enditem
