BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou FC goalkeeper Huo Shenping has been suspended for four matches after making provocative gestures to opposition fans, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced on Friday.

Huo was also fined 40,000 yuan, the CFA said, noting that his provocative behavior caused "adverse social consequences".

Following Guangzhou's 1-0 win over Dalian Yingbo in a Chinese second-tier league game last weekend, Huo bowed three times in succession to the Dalian fans on the stands, which was deemed to be provocative.

Dalian player Wang Xuanhong rushed up to the Guangzhou goalkeeper in anger and pushed him down to the ground, which caused a fracas between the two teams.

After the game, the CFA immediately made clear they would launch an investigation into the incident and punish those involved. Enditem
