MACAO, May 25 (Xinhua) -- The BEYOND Expo 2024 was held in China's Macao Special Administrative Region Wednesday through Saturday, showcasing cutting-edge technologies while attracting over 1,000 companies to participate.

The expo, with the theme "Embracing the Uncertainties," featured an exhibition area of some 100,000 square meters and highlighted three subsections: healthcare, climate tech and consumer tech.

Thanks to the multilingual translation technology, the audience attending the expo's forums can acquire real-time subtitles in English and Chinese. The staff of iFlytek, a Chinese AI company that provides the technology, said that products such as smart recorders and translators have been playing an important role in many international competitions and exhibitions.

NBA China communications senior manager Liu Shuo told Xinhua that the LED basketball floor on display can change its color in real-time, displaying game figures, video clips and animation, which enhanced the audience's participation experience.

The expo also achieved multiple partnerships. Macao, Hengqin Intensive Cooperation Zone and the Chinese battery producer CATL respectively signed framework cooperation agreements, covering industry funds, industrial implementation and renewable energy construction.

The BEYOND expo, organized by the Macao Technology General Association, was first held in 2021. It aims to build a platform to promote international scientific and technological progress and nurture the exchange of Asian science, technology and innovation culture. Enditem
