BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.27 percent to 3,078.49 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.07 percent higher at 9,370.5 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 830.7 billion yuan (about 116.86 billion U.S. dollars), up from 715 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares in the memory chip and pork sectors led the gains, while those related to car dismantling and minor metals suffered significant losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.79 percent to close at 1,819.46 points Monday. Enditem
