CHANGSHA, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Traffic has resumed on roads connecting all administrative villages in the central Chinese city of Zixing as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, after typhoon-induced heavy rains wreaked havoc, local authorities have said.

Rainstorms unleashed by Typhoon Gaemi had severely impacted the county-level city of Zixing in Hunan Province since late July, triggering flash floods and landslides, damaging 1,150 kilometers of roads and blocking access to 30 administrative villages, according to the transport bureau of Chenzhou City, which administers Zixing.

Multiple rescue teams worked to repair the roads. Enditem
