BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.6 percent to 2,850.65 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.17 percent lower at 8,311 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 477.45 billion yuan (66.86 billion U.S. dollars), slightly up from 477.32 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares related to games and consumer electronics sectors led the gains, while companies linked to wind power facilities suffered major losses.
