BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.2 percent to 3,288.41 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.62 percent lower at 9,855.2 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.06 trillion yuan (about 147 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.11 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the gaming, banking, and steel sectors led the gains, while those related to tourism, food and real estate were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.65 percent to close at 1,934.46 points. Enditem
