HONG KONG, June 18 (Xinhua) -- A 36-year-old man was slashed by multiple blade-wielding assailants and robbed of 6 kg of gold bars early Thursday at a parking lot of Hong Kong International Airport, according to local news reports.
The man had flown back from the Indonesian resort island of Bali at the time of the attack. The gold bars are believed to be worth around 7 million Hong Kong dollars (about 893,127 U.S. dollars).
The assailants fled the scene with a getaway vehicle, according to local media outlets. The Hong Kong Police Force has locked down the parking lot for forensic investigation and has set up checkpoints at major traffic arteries in the city to track down the suspects. Enditem
