Traffic Accident Kills 11, Injures 3 in Guangxi

A bus collided with a mini-bus Friday night, leaving 11 people dead and three injured in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a source with the local government said Saturday.

 

The bus was running fast along the Yinhai Road at about 9:00 PM when it run into an overloaded mini-bus which was designed to carry seven persons, but it was unknown how many people were on board, according to a witnesses.

 

At least five people died on the spot and six others died after medical rescue efforts failed, local police said, noting that most of the dead and injured were passengers in the mini-bus.

 

Further investigation is under way.
