Three Suspected of Conducting Internet Cafe Blasts Captured

Three people suspected of creating fatal blasts at two Internet cafes in the eastern city of Hefei last month have been captured, local police said Saturday.

 

The blasts on the evening of May 5 left two persons dead and four others injured in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province.

 

A police spokesman said 45-year-old jobless Lu Dongming and his24-year-old nephew and 19-year-old son have admitted that they executed the explosions at the Haoyu and Juxing Internet cafes in an attempt to blackmail other Internet cafes.

 

The police also have seized 21 explosives, 12 detonators, one self-made handgun and two detonating devices in the place where the three suspects hid.

 

Further investigation into the case is underway.
