A man died on a train on September 25 while he was tied up after he disturbed other passengers, Chongqing Evening News reported today.
The dead man’s relatives buried him on Monday after accepting compensation of 120,000 yuan (US$17,544) from the railway operation company in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, according to the report.
Cao Dahe was suspected of suffering from mania when boarding train 1291 on September 24 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. He was headed to his hometown in Zunyi, Guizhou.
Cao was shouting on the train and disturbing other passengers, the report said. A conductor and attendants tied his hands and legs at an unspecified time on the night of September 24. After crying all night, he died about 9 am the next day, the report said.
The report did not give a cause of death.
He was accompanied by two other people on the train. He had worked one day at a factory in Guangzhou and reportedly shouted constantly on the job, according to the newspaper.
