An unidentified man of United States' citizenship was found dead near an apartment building at Nanshan District in Shenzhen City, south China's Guangdong Province, on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The Shenzhen City Department of Public Security confirmed the corpse had been found in the vicinity of Xinyidai Apartment Building on Dongbin Road.

It was not immediately known if the man committed suicide by jumping from the apartment building or the exact time of his death.

The police department will not disclose further details about the dead man until further investigations, including an autopsy, have been completed.
