Shanghai reports 8 new imported COVID-19 cases

​Shanghai reported eight new imported COVID-19 cases and no increase in domestically transmitted cases on Tuesday, the municipal health commission said Wednesday.

Shanghai reported eight new imported COVID-19 cases and no increase in domestically transmitted cases on Tuesday, the municipal health commission said Wednesday.

Seven of the imported cases were Chinese nationals returning from overseas, while the other was an Indian national from Britain.

All the eight patients have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 90 close contacts of the patients on the same flights have been put under quarantine.

As of Tuesday, Shanghai had reported 508 confirmed imported cases and 342 locally transmitted cases.
