从登山运动中派生出来的攀冰也是一项充满刺激的极限运动。攀冰者脚穿冰爪、手执冰镐，将一颗颗冰锥固定在冰面上，再踩着这些支点攀上悬崖。冰面光滑，冰会融化，也易碎裂，气候寒冷等等都是攀冰者要面临的挑战。做足保护性措施、掌握熟练技巧都是攀冰必要的前提条件。
