'Beauty Beyond Reach' – a palace exhibition
编者按：日前，颐和园德和园扮戏楼正在举办“美人如花隔云端——中国明清女性生活展”，观众可穿越数百年的尘封岁月，近距离欣赏古代婉约佳人们的生活画卷。展览展出了北京艺术博物馆藏品95套，从服饰仪容、家居用品、女红巧技、休闲娱乐和书画才艺等五个单元解读明、清代不同阶层女性的生活状况。该展览将持续至9月12日。
Editor's note: An exhibition with the eye-catching name of "Beauty Beyond Reach – Living Show of Chinese Women of the Ming and Qing Dynasties" is being held at the Summer Palace in Beijing. Visitors can have a glimpse into the lives of Chinese ladies during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. The exhibition showcases a total of 95 pieces, including exquisite costumes, embroidery and furniture, as well as classical Chinese paintings and calligraphy, all from the collection of Beijing Art Museum located inside the palace's Wanshou Temple. The exhibition runs until Sept. 12.
