这是内蒙古鄂尔多斯市杭锦旗库布其沙漠生态科技中心展览馆保存的20世纪90年代杭锦旗人民修建“锡乌”穿沙公路的照片（翻拍照片）。中国第七大、也是距北京最近的沙漠——库布其沙漠曾经寸草不生，风沙肆虐，被称为“死亡之海”。几十年来，库布其人一代接着一代干，书写了一部荒漠化治理的英雄史诗。库布其沙漠治理创造了人间奇迹，治理面积达6460平方公里，绿化面积3200多平方公里。[新华社]
