编者按：每年10月1日，即中华人民共和国宣告成立的伟大日子，为中华人民共和国国庆日。国庆节七天休假又被称为“十一黄金周”。在今年国庆节来临之际，全国各地纷纷开展丰富多彩的活动，喜迎佳节。
Editor's note: Each year China's National Day is celebrated on Oct. 1 to commemorate the founding of the People's Republic of China and people can enjoy a seven-day (Oct.1 to 7) holiday, more commonly known as the "Golden Week." A variety of large-scale activities will be held nationwide and China.org.cn offers you a sample of what to expect.
