Identified Great Wall Discovered in Shanxi Province

An identified Great Wall has been discovered on a mountain slope called the Great Wall Peak in Shenbei village, Huguan county, Shanxi Province.

The Great Wall, five to six meters wide, was built with black stones of all sizes. It extends in the shape of a belt, and undulates continuously on the mountain slope over a distance of dozens of kilometers.

Some local residents believe that the Great Wall was built in the Shang Dynasty (BC1600-BC1100). Some say it was built up in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Now it remains unknown when and why this Great Wall was built.
