Bayi Upset Guangdong 97-96

Wang Zhongguang's lay-up with one second left sent Bayi past Guangdong 97-96, their third straight victory in the CBA season.

The two teams played a close match on Sunday with defending champion Guangdong led with six points after the first three quarters.

Bayi, spearheaded by veteran Li Nan and teenager Wang Zhongguang, fought back in the fourth quarter and seal the victory by a narrow margin of only one point.

Li Nan scored a team-high 27 points for Bayi, while Wang Zhongguang added 18.

Ji Chen led the Guangdong team with 29 points.

In other games of the 4th round, Shanghai beat Fujian 103-90, Shandong won over Jilin 114-101, Jiangsu snapped their losing streak by defeating Yunnan 110-83, Zhejiang outplayed Dongguan 122-113, Henan crushed Liaoning 104-84 and Beijing extended their unbeaten streak to four after thrashed Xinjiang 111-97.
