Southern Tigers Win 17th Straight

The CBA battle between two Guangdong teams took place yesterday, as the Hongyuan Southern Tigers acted as the host, beating the Dongguan Xinshiji 141-115.

Song Xi led Hongyuan with 29 points. Du Feng poured in 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the win. Ji Le drained 14 points. Yi Jianlian finished with 10 points and four dunks. Dixon Jason and Dixon Jason added 11 and 10 points respectively for the Tigers, who have won 17 games in a row and are 20-1 on the season.

Anthony Miles scored a game-high 47 points and collected 6 boards in the defeat to Hongyuan for Dongguan, which has lost 16 of their last 21 games.
Only two other Dongguan players reached double-figures with Wang Jing 26 and Qiu Biao 13 points.

The Southern Tigers led 33-20 after the first quarter, and extended the cushion to 73-46 at half. After 36 minutes, Hongyuan still took a 109-77 lead.

In other results, Jilin crushed Liaoning 114-94; Shandong won over Henan 101-97; Xinjiang beat Shaanxi 123-103; Fujjian lost to Yunnan 109-85; Jiangsu beat Shanghai 136-111; Bayi downed Zhejiang 86-74.
