Adjust font size:

The Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) will deliberate on 39 new laws in 2006, including the draft laws on money laundering and antitrust, according to its 2006 legislation plan, approved by a chairman and vice-chairpersons meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th NPC earlier this month.

Sixteen draft laws will be tabled to the China's top legislature for first time, including on such high-profile issues as partnership, compulsory education, money laundering, antitrust, drug control, minors' protection and budget amendments.

Nine law drafts will be submitted to the top legislature for second or third rounds of deliberation.

Fourteen additional draft laws will be submitted for deliberation if time allows.
