Gas Emission Leaves 6 Miners Dead, 12 Missing

A gas emission accident left 6 coal miners dead and 12 others missing Saturday in central China's Hunan Province, the provincial authorities on coal production said Sunday.

 

The accident occurred around 17:00 PM Saturday when 24 miners were working at Dayuan Coal Mine in Longhui County of Shaoyang City.

 

Six miners were rescued and 12 others were still missing.

 

The bodies of the 6 dead have been found, according to the provincial authorities.

 

The rescue work is still under way.
