A+A Art Exhibition 2007

The A +A Art Exhibition, sponsored by PIFO New Art Studio, is being held from March 30 to May 31. This is the second annual exhibition, after last year's inaugural event was well received by many audiences.

Wang Xinyou, the organizer of the exhibition, said the art works would be shown in three cities -- Chongqing, Chengdu, and Beijing, which are the three core art towns of China. 150 works, including paintings, photographs, and sculptures, selected from 20 young artists of the three towns, would be shown.

Some of the artists involved are famous, while others are teachers or artists who are making a professional debut. A+A's mission is to avoid fad and imitation and encourage original creations.

A + A stands for Art and Art popularization. Sponsors select artists who were all born in the early 1970s and the exhibitions are all held in most avant-garde districts. The exhibitions are all open free to the public.

After the exhibitions, the works will continue to be shown at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and China Academy of Art. The sponsor also plans to set up a national special award for young artists.
