China-LatAm Community with a Shared Future
During their meeting in Brasilia in July 2014, Xi Jinping and the state leaders of Latin American and Caribbean countries decided to establish a comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring equality, mutual benefit and common development, and announced the decision to build a China-LatAm community with a shared future. When addressing the Peruvian Congress in November 2016, Xi referred to this community, and proposed that China and Latin America and the Caribbean stick to peaceful development and cooperation, seek synergy of their development strategies, speed up and upgrade cooperation, and bring benefits to their people. These echoed China's advocacy of a community with a shared future for humanity, and opened up broad prospects for China-Latin American ties.
To build such a community, the two sides need to make joint efforts through consultation to bring benefits to all, and advance bilateral cooperation and multilateral platforms in parallel to support comprehensive cooperation. This follows the trend of the current times, and serves the fundamental interests of the people of the countries involved. It is a community of shared interests and shared responsibility, and a closer partnership as well. It offers a new vision of development for South-South cooperation.
中拉命运共同体
2014年7月，习近平在巴西利亚与拉美和加勒比国家领导人举行会晤，决定建立平等互利、共同发展的中拉全面合作伙伴关系，共同宣布成立中拉命运共同体。
2016年11月，习近平在秘鲁国会发表演讲，再次从打造中拉命运共同体出发，提出高举和平发展合作旗帜、推动发展战略对接、推进合作换挡加速、实现合作成果共享等四点建议，充分体现了中国一贯倡导的人类命运共同体理念，为共创中拉关系美好未来指明了前进方向。
中拉命运共同体的建设遵循共商共建共享的原则，坚持双边合作与多边平台建设并行推进，支撑起全面合作的大厦，符合时代潮流，也符合中拉两大地区人民的根本利益。中拉命运共同体不仅是利益共同体，还是责任共同体，更是紧密的发展伙伴关系，开拓了南南合作实现新发展的崭新思路。
