Professionally dedicated and sociable

This idiom originates from The Book of Rites. It calls on people to be dedicated to their study and work and be friendly to their schoolmates, friends and other people. To be dedicated and sociable is a basic quality of an educated person or an employee. These are also the basic building blocks of a healthy society.

At the Forum on Literature and Art held in October 2014, Xi Jinping pointed out: The Chinese nation has fostered a unique philosophy and moral norms characterized by benevolence, people-orientation, honesty, dialectics, concordance and universal harmony. We have fine traditions such as seeking constant self-improvement, being dedicated and sociable, fostering virtue and good conduct, rescuing those in danger, relieving those in need, and honoring filial piety to our parents and love of the family. These thoughts, ideas and norms all have indelible value today.
