Xi Jinping first proposed the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting held in March 2023. He expounded on the approaches to coexistence of diverse civilizations and advancement of human civilizations. He emphasized that China stands ready to work together with the international community to pursue contextually adapted modernization, promote inter-civilizational exchanges and mutual learning, and advance the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
