Chairwoman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Uyunqimg, a native from Beipiao City in Liaoning Province, was born in 1942. She began work in 1964 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1966.

She successively served as a standing committee member of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee, head of the regional Publicity Department and chairwoman of Women's Federation for the autonomous region.

In December 1993, she held the post of deputy director of the Public Security Administrative Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In December 1994, she was elected as deputy secretary of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee at the first session of the Sixth CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee.

In August 2000, she served as vice chairwoman and acting chairwoman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In February 2001, she was elected chairwoman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In January 2003, she was re-elected as chairwoman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Uyunqimg was an alternate member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committee and is now serving as a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee.
