Disappearing Great Wall in China
Adjust font size:

The Great Wall is usually spoken of as "Ten Thousand Li Great Wall" in China, as it extended about 6,300 kilometers in the Ming Dynasty, about 12,600 li; however, a recent probe reveals that less than 20% of the wall is still in good condition, and less than 30% is still clearly visible.

Only 2,500 km of the wall is left nowadays, and the situation is worsening everyday.

Fortunately, China has issued Regulations on the Protection of the Great Wall, which will save the wall from both natural erosion and human influences.

May the Great Wall not disappear in our generation, or it will be our sin against our posterity for the loss of such precious heritage.
