SW City Highlights Original Ethnic Culture

The opening ceremony of Kaili city's Original Ethnic Culture and Arts Festival kicked off at its national stadium, in south-western China's Guizhou Province, on Monday.

Kaili city, situated in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, in the south-eastern part of Guizhou Province, is populated with Miao and Dong minority groups.

Original ethnic cultures and primitive natural ecologies are well preserved in this place.

The Original Ethnic Culture and Arts Festival 2007 in Kaili, Guizhou starts on Monday and will last until August 3.

The locals, dressed in traditional nationality clothing, put on a Jinji dance, or embroidered chicken dance, during the opening ceremony of the Original Ethnic Culture and Arts Festival in Kaili, Guizhou on July 23, 2007.
